On This weeks Sounds of the Caribbean Keith Rowe takes you on a walk down memory lane with his tribute to the great reggae musician Lynn Taitt. Lynn Taitt (6/22/34-1/20/10) passed away this past week in Montreal Canada. Lynn Taitt was an arranger, pannist, and guitarist and wrote his own music. Taitt also played Piano and keyboard. Taitt himself had very few recordings but his works with other musicians estimated to be near a thousand will live on forever. This week you will hear classic tunes from the great Rock steady era from the likes of Hopeton Lewis, The Tennors, Stranger Cole, The Heptones, Bob Marley, Rudy Mills, Johnny Nash, The Paragos, The Skatalites, Ken Boothe, and Roy Shirley. Lynn Taitt also played on all of Keith's Keith & Tex classics and of course they are featured as well, along with Keith telling of what it was like back in the day to be recording with an artist like Lynn Taitt.
This weeks Dub Zone which steps away from the Lynn Taitt tribute features dubs from Pablo Gad, UB40, Ini Kamoze, and Dub Syndicate. You will also hear extended mixes from Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, and Anthony Red Rose.
